What was needed

The project was backed by the Tatarstan President's commission on preserving the Tatar language. The goal was to make young schoolchildren actually want to read Tatar classics in their own language.

What we did

We built alsu.tatar around three sections. Tylsymly Kitap turns like a real book, with narration, full-screen illustrations and video clips. Alsu holds the audiobooks, where a tap on an unfamiliar word shows its meaning. Bala collects fairy tales with karaoke and text you can switch off.

More detail

The reader here is a young schoolchild, so everything leans on pictures and voice. Every book can be listened to, illustrations open large, and video clips sit alongside.

The look is bright and simple, with big buttons. The three sections work differently but clearly belong together.
